I sent my I-129F at the end of last year. I received my NOA1 but my petition is still sitting somewhere at the Vermont Service Center. My fiancee and I had a falling out and in a moment of anger I sent a letter to the VSC this week asking that my petition be withdrawn. We have since patched up our differences. I feel terrible about what I did but we all do stupid things. My question is can I reapply for her given my petition was never processed? I'm guessing no but I have to ask. Thanks.

You will get a letter from them when they process your withdrawal request, letting you know that your petition has been withdrawn. I don't suggest reapplying while the first petition is still open. You can reapply after it is withdrawn, other people have done it, but I'm not sure what you will have to do. Hopefully somebody else can help you with that.

My Immigration Journey:

K1: June 2010 - December 2010

AOS: April 2011 - June 2011

ROC: April 2013 - August 2013

Naturalization: March 2014 - August 2014

You should call the service center, it seems it would be better for you if you can still request the cancellation request to be canceled, or who knows maybe you get lucky and they never got that request?

I'm going to send a letter tomorrow asking that my withdrawal letter be canceled and thrown away. I hope its not to late...

I don't know if they are any more organized these days, but they might take too long to process the letter. I would call them also at the service center number: 800-375-5283

Otherwise you'll be left in even deeper limbo not knowing what is happening to that petition, or anti-petition.

Good luck!

I have called that number and they just give out general info. From my experience with them they have told me that any correspondence with the service center needs to be in writing. I think its pretty much a done deal now but I can hope that they are so disorganized there at the VSC (which they are) that maybe they have lost the letter. Stupid me for ever sending that letter.
