Hi everyone,

I can't seem to find the direct answer to my question here.

We went to SSA office today, with my green card, requested to remove the restriction on my existing SS Card.

The lady told me that my name isn't updated in the USCIS database, which mean, I have my maiden name instead

of my married name. GC name is correct, how could it be possible that the last name on database is different when

they already issued me a GC in a correct name?

So, what do I do? Make an infopass? then what? how long should I wait before they update it?

Please to anyone that has the same situation here as me, please let me know what you did and how long you've waited?

Thank you

When did you get your GC? You could have got a SSN number a few weeks after arrival here or even soon after or just after your marriage and had it put in your married name. If you only just got GC then it will most probably take a few weeks before the system is updated with your new name from GC. Your GC would be correct just means the system is not updated yet and still has your maiden name that you applied for SSN with.

You need to update your timeline too please

Did they let you submit the application? If they did, it hopefully will be easy for them to verify your permanent resident status in your married name. Check back in a week to see if they have submitted the secondary electronic verification request and were they able verify your status.
