Packet 3 Guidance please

ok - we've managed to get through one crisis and now another starts. First of all for anyone completing the K3, on your DS 156 on question 36, I was getting conflicting answers so I called the embassy and if anyones completed the I-129F and the I-130 for your spouse, they answer yes and give your name. And yes Egyptians do have a National Identification Number.

So now I have a couple more questions. When my husband received the Packet 3 it says to gather all required documents and send them and the original forms to the embassy. The forms that he had received in the packet (DS 156 and DS 157) both had expiration dates that were already passed. So we have found the DS 156 online as well as the DS 157 so we will use these documents. Right? The paper that he had received is thicker than what we will be using - is that ok? He received no instructions on how to complete the DS 156 in the Packet 3. Does is make a difference if the answers are typed or printed on the forms?

When he went to the CIB bank to pay the fee for the application, they gave him a sheet of instructions on how to complete the DS 156 with a barcode. The man said that the DS 156 needs a bar code when he goes to his interview. So the question is - does he send in the barcoded DS 156 form with his packet 3 info (it doesn't mention anything about that in the instructions) or does he just generate the barcode for the actual interview?

If anyone knows these answers - please help. We are trying to get the papers sent back within the next day or so.

To get the bar coded DS-156 follow this link, fill it out then select continue, it generates one with bar code for you to print out, and also enters the data into USCIS systems, this is what they are asking for.

Here is the newest DS-157 Can be filled and printed.
