I merely interpreted that as a wait period of 60 days after which an inquiry should be made. If it was not the norm of 60, why arbitrarily name it?

Suffice to say, I think you would be extremely hard pressed to find anyone immigrating from Canada, who was born and raised here, has not resided in any other country, had a flawless immigration interview that has had to wait years in AP.

Those are the circumstances that surround YVRDualCouple's and my application currently. If you can think of any such reason as to why we both have been delayed this long while others have gone through this quickly without much of a wait I would love to hear it.

In my opinion, the moment you need to send extra supporting documents by post after your interview, you are scre***. They are just unable to connect them back with your original application documents, that might be piled up who knows where. I am not sure if that applies to other cases, but I have been waiting for a month now on an L1 visa, I had to send supporting documents after the interview, and the answer that I got yesterday to my status request, is that my case is still with the interviewer officer (i.e.: It hasn't moved from the interviewer desk in over a month!).

I mean, with the amount of information that they share, we can just speculate and go crazy while we wait.

I would like to here as well from cases of people sending supporting documents if they have suffered this type of delay.

You can say that again! No idea why this bad luck has decided to grace me with it's presence...

As for sending documents after the fact - despite the fact I did not have to send anything, I have read (on here and other places) that what you said generally tends to be right the bulk of the time. Those who had to send along certain documents after the fact to an already slow consulate risk having their visa delayed substantially. Why that is, I have no clue.

I absolutely abhor the lack of information they share from that silly little email form they say will actually get you answers.

Judging by the news releases from July of 2014, it appears as though this outage was officially reported as starting on between July 23-25, 2014; as per duration, I cannot find a solid source as to when systems were back up, but judging from comments on various websites during the incident, I am seeing posts anywhere from August 5-14. My guess is this was approximately a 2-3 week outage. This is of course just from what I gather, so do not take this as the gospel.

I picture rows upon rows of desks topped with 6 feet worth of visa applications on each while the workers reattach their new IV of coffee to make it through the backlog.

In all seriousness though I can only hope that administrators are using their time wisely during this downtime - E.g. process whatever possible to clear the way for a smooth transition once this system issue is corrected. I would hate to just have my application sitting still while some work could be done to it.

For those of you who have fallen victim to the technical glitch in the system and are waiting for it to be fixed so you can retrieve your stamped passports. What's your current status on the visa status track online? I was approved after the interview (along with my child) on thursday and told pick up woud be in 3-5 days, but im under "administrative processing" at the moment. Im hoping its just due to the current disruption. Anyone in this situation?

I can't speak specifically to your situation, but in my instance I entered into "Administrative Processing" on June 3rd, well before the systems breach was made public.

From my understanding you will not enter the "Issued" phase of the visa until this problem has been solved. I do believe that almost every other part of the process will be ongoing as normal up to, but not including, the physical printing of your visa and sending it by Loomis.

My guess would be (based on the fact that you entered AP so quickly) you will be receiving your visa relatively quickly after this system issue is solved. How quickly I suppose would be dependent upon the backlog.

For someone in my position as well as another member active on this thread, we have had very lengthy waits pre-systems problem. For example, my interview was completed and approved on May 14th and I only entered into the AP phase on June 3rd. I would like to think that the consulate is doing all the work possible on my application at this point so I can also have my visa issued once this problem is fixed, but that is not a guarantee either.

Above all, I do not think anyone has any idea of how long this visa system outage will be. From what I gathered reading online, the last time something similar to this happened in July of 2014 it was approximately 3 weeks before the system was back up and running; it is important to note, however, the DOS is claiming this current problem is unlike the previous problem last year. This could mean this problem could be fixed quicker or more slowly, I am unsure of which.

I have been reading the news about the glitches and it would be appear to be an issue for anyone that has submitted an online application for a passport or Visa on or after June 9th. So then in theory then this wouldn't be an issue for those who started this process way back in July 2014, right? My interview is two weeks from today, once the interview is successfully done I will ask them about the glitch and possible delays.

Today marks 4 weeks since my interview (May 19th). Went into AP June 8, no update since then. I'm thinking of asking my sponsor to contact his congress person next week if there is no change. My travel plans aren't until later but I don't want to wait too long and scramble last minute.
