Effects of global crisis on timelines?

With all the chaos in Egypt, Libya, Yemen and the devestating earthquake & sunami in Japan, I selfishly wonder how all this might effect the processing times for our visa apps? Please feel free to weigh in with your thoughts. Anyone with past experience or insight?

i would have thought that as long as you arent in one of those countries then it shouldnt have to much of an affect,if any.

however if there is a large number of refugees to the states,as there was after the haiti incident, then that could well be a reason for things getting slowed down.

i remember that when i was asking on here about our noa2 being so long to come,people were suggesting that it was because the visa folk were busy working on renewing the haiti visas.

but this is just assumption and what i have been told by others on this site with regard to my own time line

I here ya. I have this image of some policy maker in DC saying "stop everything and process apps from Egypt,Japan, and Libya so we can get those people here before everything falls apart". Who knows, maybe that might even be the "right" thing to do? Just wondering if I'm the only one who worries about this?

Noted a couple of fairly quick NOA2's (less than 100 days) for Japan couples recently. Guess they are moving those along quickly...
