My wife and I are planning on going back to Brazil for the Christmas and New Year holidays but the ticket prices to Rio have gone up a lot over the past few weeks. A couple weeks ago prices were about $1,300 a person and now they are about $1,800. It has never been this high for about 9 months before the travel date. Does anyone think that ticket prices will steadily go down when all of the issues overseas slowly calm down or when its about 6 months to the travel date?

Thanks for any advice!

is carnival going on still? that may be why the prices went up. also, the price for oil did go up and that may also be reflected in the price increase.

The oil cost is making prices ridiculous right now.

I will give some advice. About 2 years ago when oil prices spiked I paid £700 for a ticket to go see Nick (normal price around £400). I panicked and worried they would just go up and up and I wouldnt be able to go. About three weeks later they dropped down to normal again

We are waiting right now as tickets are about £600 for Nick to come here for a visit, but im not falling for the same old tricks again!
