I'm not sure that the consulate accepts credit cards... They might. I paid cash (US currency) when I had my interview. I would bring the cash, just in case, and worse comes to worse, you'll have that cash for when you move to the US...

Good luck next week!

Most appointments are now paid for online via the website MTL gives you with credit card. You also need to book the DHL location to pick up your visa and packet up at after the interview.

The consulate's website does say "All fees may be paid in US dollars or the Canadian dollar equivalent. We accept cash and credit cards only. Please note if a person is found ineligible to receive a visa, the application fee cannot be refunded."

You can read the original here (right before the Medical Exam paragraph) : http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/content/content.asp?section=visas&document=visa_pkt4

Edit : I would personally play it safe by paying online and printing my receipt or take the exact amount in USD...

I paid everything online and brought no cash with me to Montreal. Don't forget your pre-paid envelope (and write down the tracking #)!!!! So many people forget that and they get a bit cranky if you do.

US $ is the best bet for Montreal and in cash.

You can pre-pay online, but to save any headaches, cash in hand at the consulate is the best way to go.

I prepaid online and I don't see how it would cause any headaches. I have the confirmation page and also, on my interview confirmation page, it states that I've paid and gives a reference number. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

There are no more pre-paid envelopes as I said above, DHL must be booked on the website provided by MTL. You will book your DHL pick up location nearest you.

I already paid online to NVC and have a receipt too. The interview letter also mentioned the "fee paid". When I paid the fee was $400/person but now fee is $800/person for employment base immigration. I think there is no harm to take cash if not needed then deposit in the bank branch there after interview. I already register for DHL and taking expresspost biggest envelope too for safe side.

Did any one experience in employment base immigration interview?
