Hello fellow IR-1/Cr-1 filers,

I just have a quick question. Who schedules the interview date? Is it the NVC or the consulate? Since the NVC sends the visa package/papers to the consulate, does that mean that the consulate schedules and they inform the NVC then NVC emails the petitioner? Or it varies from different consulates?

Please enlighten me. Thank you and God bless!

You booked your flight already? Make sure you have cancellation insurance, too much can go wrong between now and then. A canadian was delayed 6 weeks because Montreal didn't take her fingerprints right so they couldn't issue the visa until that was cleared up.

I was told that each consulate sends NVC the number of interview allotments they have for the month, NVC then schedules the interviews accordingly

Good luck

Yea, it is included in the insurance. We took the risk since we found a very cheap fare. If in case, it won't be possible, we are willing to pay the extra fees. We just want to take the risk and we hope it is really doable.

Thanks for the reply! So, that makes me feel at peace.

uhmm, my case was upgraded from F2A to CR1 last Feb.

My case was final review last Feb. 18 and got the appointment letter thru email last March 3.

I think after the case is completed it will be on final review for 1-2 weeks.

Thank you! So, it's the NVC that schedules! :)
