It's unclear to me what I should send to Montreal with the DS-230. The consulate website lists:

- DS-230 Part I and II

- Document Checklist

- 2 color photographs

- Photocopy of bio page of passport

What about all the documents on the checklist, such as evidence of domicile and police report? I thought if I didn't send those things, I would get an RFE. What gives? Should I send them, and if so originals or copies?

Thanks!

Those docs are carried into the visa interview.

The checklist indicated that you have gathered these things and will bring to the interview.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

The list you posted is correct that is what you send back, but you are missing the DS-160 confirmation page copy.(assuming you are a K-1 because you show no information otherwise on your post)

You need to print out 2 copys as well as a full copy of the DS-160. Include 1 confirmation page in the package you send back to MTL and bring the rest to the interview with you.

All documents ON the check list must be brought with you to the interview in MTL.

No large backs, messenger bags or backpacks allowed. No sharp objects, no computer media of any sort, no mp3 or cd players/cds and no cellphones.

Use clear plastic bag or small accordion folder to sort your files. Go light because you go through scanners and they go through your things.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

So then what sorts of things would cause an RFE?

Sorry for the lack of clarity, working fast here. It's a CR-1.

Um really the only RFE would come AT the interview if they are missing something. Like maybe they cant find part of your file from the I-130 things you sent in etc. Or if you don't bring enough income proof or proof of domicile in the US from the US citizen.

Montreal is pretty hard against the US domicile bit, there is a pinned topic to check out about that if you have not already.
