A friend of mine in South Africa has an Australian fiance and they would like to move to Aus. Is there an Aussie version of the K-1 visa and are there any guidlines that I can send to her to read??

Thank you!

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

Coralie, titles like these scare me! I though you were moving to Australia lol... I was like she had to wait so long to get in to the US and now she's already moving!

Anyways, I wish your friend good luck with the process! Here is what I found, might help or might not help!

Hi there, just saw this but here is the link for the visa options. Last I checked the application fee was AU$1,735 (plus any medicals, PC's etc).

http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/visa-options.htm

Also, the application does not list income limits the way the US process does. Aus immigration may request a bond which is either $5,000 - $10,000. Note, they 'may'. It's not very clear. Depends on the circumstances, country of origin etc. and this is held by Centrelink for a period of 2 years.

Best of luck to your friend. Hope this helps. :)
