Which takes longer K1 or K3?

I know each case is to its own, but just wondered what would take longer? I can't really tell from flicking from the K1 forum to the K3.. Anyone got a rough guide on this?

The K3 is generally the quicker of the 2. Another option to consider is DCF. DCF involves getting married outside the USA and then filling for Visa directly at the Consulate, it is generally the quickest but is usually used when the US Citizen lives in the foreign country. Look at the guides on this site: :guides: And reviews for your nearest Consulate for DCF reviews.

Depends on the service center these days but generically speaking, a K1 will get you into the US faster than a K3.

One other thing K1 is only for unmarried couples so if you are already married then your options are K3, C1, or DCF.

03-17-07 - Transferred notice e-mail

03-20-07 - Received TSC transfer letter

03-21-07 - application pending at TSC e-mail.

05-14-07 - Misinfopass appt. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.

06-05-07 - I-131 e-filed

06-11-07 - AP NOA1

07-09-07 - Received weird looking letter for AP, but online status hasn't changed

DCF is filing the I-130 petition with a consulate (or overseas USCIS office) rather than with a USCIS Service Center here in the USA. Nothing more, nothing less. Doesn't make any difference where the marriage took place, and it isn't a visa.
