I only have my canadian credit card left, no bank account. Can i still use custom house to pay my cc from my us bank account? Been seding monthly cheques but it seems to take a month for them to get there and be processed and for the 2nd time my payment has either been late or lost.

Just wondering if i actually need a CDN bank account to be able to pay my CDN cc or if they can just do the conversion withdrawl from my US one.

I believe you do need a bank account. It's basically like transferring money from one bank account to another bank account. I don't think there is an option to transfer straight to a credit card. You might just want to try calling them to find out just to be sure.

ok your right. as was told to me today; "you will have to confirm that they have a holding account for credit card payments."

alas..the only reason i got rid of my canadian bank account is that i was tired of paying monthly fees for not using it or carrying a balance. i just dont understand why the mail system from chicago to toronto takes so damn long...its a 5 hour drive by car..and yet mail both ways takes upwards of 3-4 weeks..Le Sigh.

I kept open my Presidents choice account--no fees at all! BUT if one is no longer living in Canada, they want you to close the account! So I just use my parents addy and keep a tiny sum of $$ (under $1) in it!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
