Usually buying round trip is cheaper than 1 way. You can buy a round trip ticket and then just cancel the return trip ticket. Or you can buy 1 way and pay more. Its up to you guys.

They were asking the requirements....

And why would round trip be cheaper than one way? That doesn't make any sense.

02 Nov 2010-Left China to meet this wonderful girl

20 Dec 2010 - Married in Mindanao

03 Jan 2011 - I-130 Filed in Manila, despite missing MC and LB (5 min processing at the US Embassy-no attorney)

15 Jan 2011- I-130 Approved

02 Mar 2011-Visa Interview-Approved

Google is your friend.

But anyway...

Round trip used to be cheaper than one way, because tourists (price-sensitive) would typically buy roundtrips, and business travellers (not price-sensitive) used to buy oneway tickets.

This is much less true than it used to be.

Be careful: if you buy a return ticket and only use half of it, the airline can come after you for the fare difference (it's usually in the terms you agree to when you buy the ticket).

dubbers

Dublin

March 1 2011: submit i-130 to Dublin, request medical records and police reports

March 20: told not enough evidence that we are actually resident in Ireland, i-130 returned

April 1: submitted again with lots of evidence.

May 9: Receive packet 3, return DS-230 part 1 and notice of readiness.

May 16: Receive notice of June 2 interview.
