Hi all,

I'm currently in US on j-1 visa and thinking of getting a job and moving to H visa so that I can apply for US immigration through employment. I am not subject to 2 year Home residency requirement as it is mentioned in my visa.

Would you guys help me to know what are the steps for converting j1 to employment visa? Do I have to leave States and apply for H visa from another country or can I do it when I am still here?

Thanks

-Rozzi

An employer would file an I-129 petition for the visa, nothing for you to do at that pont.

Note: The limit for 2011 H-1B has been met already.
