Hi,

My dad went to his interview yesterday and passed everything but was given the paper saying that a decision could not be made at the moment. He obtained his greencard long time ago with a waiver.

What would be the timeframe for the decision?

Has anyone had a similar case and what has been de outcome.

Thank You

Hello,

Would you plz give us some more details, What happend there for the Interviewer to give ur Dad, a decision cannot be made yet? what happend during the Interview? if u not sure, wait next week or so, hopefully your Dad will recieve his Letter. If you said he passed his Test and everything went fine. then maybe the Interviewer wanted to go over ur Dad's Paperwork, which is common.

Keep us update it.

Good Luck.

The Interviewer told him that he passed everything but she wanted to look into the waiver documents and would receive a written response of the decision.

Amazes me that I can go to a bank or a gun store, and have an FBI check done on us in seconds, but takes forever with the USCIS. Everything takes forever with the USCIS!

And to have our applications "misplaced" three times, first for my stepdaughters' conditional green card. Well, maybe that wasn't such a bad thing, she was negative about coming here leaving her lifetime friends, all kids are that way. But when her mom got her green card and she didn't, was very concerned about being deported. Than that crazy I-751 with several different options to work around it, all my wife had to say was I ignored her, get a divorce and still get her card kind of thing. Then misplacing her application for her oath ceremony. Three strikes and you are out. But not the USCIS, us instead.

Stepdaughters' appointment is at 3:00 PM tomorrow, can tell I am getting tense on this, USCIS has never kept an appointment time in our long history, waiting as long as 3 1/2 hours and afraid of even using the rest room, as the instant you leave is when you will be called. But good in a way, don't have to get up at 3:00 AM like we did before, but fear they will run late again and tell us to come back, no such thing as working one second past quitting time. Sorry, we can't see you today, but will send you a notice in the next ten years when we can see her again, kind of thing.
