I'm currently an employed F1 Student doing my OPT. My wife(US Citizen) and me got married last month and we are about to file for my AOS. I would greatly appreciate if someone can provide answers to some questions I have.

Questions:

1. Should I mail everything( I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131, I-864, sealed I-693, the 2 G-325A, and all the supporting documents) in a single envelope to the PO Box in Chicago, or should I mail each one of them separately to different USCIS offices?

2. Does my foreign birth certificate has to be translated and signed by a certified Translator and Notarized?

3. Does any other forms and supporting documents need to be notarized?

4. How many passport size photographs from my wife and me need to be mailed?

5. I heard that for the Affidavit of support, my wife has to obtain a letter from her employer stating her income. Can we just send a copy of her job offer letter with her salary stated on it (its less than a year old)?

Thank you so much.

Everything not in english must be translated.

EVERYTHING MUST be mailed together in the same packet.

The instructions for the forms indicate how many passport photos each form needs.

Affidavit of support needs 3 yrs tax returns or a letter stating why you do not need to file tax returns. Pay stubs, letter from employer stating salary etc. A job offer letter does not mean that she took the job.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I am a Citizen of the United States of America. 04/16/13

1) Single envelope, just organize things as if they were being sent seprately.

2) Does not need to be notarized, the translator need not be a paid professional either, they just need to "Certify" this way:

Ignore the ref to I-130, this also applies to I-129F

I-130GeneralInst2.jpg

Please submit certified translations for all foreign language documents. The translator must certify that s/he is competent to translate and that the translation is accurate.

The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is:

Certification by Translator

I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and ________ languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled ______________________________.

Signature_________________________________

Date Typed Name

Address

3) Nothing needs to be notarized other than perhaps Sworn Affidavits from Friends and family attesting to your relationship.

4) I-131 One from petitioner, and one from beneficiary. I-765 One from applicant. I-131 one from applicant.

5) Per I-864 Employer letter is optional, but recommended, this is the recommended format.

Basically, your employer letter should state "To whom it may concern: (first name, last name) has been employed full-time with the XYZ Company since 200_ as a (name of your job), and is an employee in good standing with an annual salary of $XXXX. Signed, John Doe, Supervisor (or whatever title)" The letter should be on company letterhead.

Thank you so much. Your answers have been extremely helpful.

Since I'm fluent in Both english and the foreign language myself, can I certify my own Birth certificate?

is best to use a third party.

A while back my wife needed her Chinese College transcript translated, I did the translation using translation software, then had a friend read and compare then certify it.

You must have other Chinese friends capable of doing this for you.
