Hello!

I have a question and i would like to know if any of you guys have been in the same situation.

Im gettin ready to file *ROC* this week... the thing is that because of my husbands job I have to move in two months. Hopefully I will have had my BIO appointment already. I am sending my stuff to CSC (I live in the west coast) and I am moving to the east coast (I belive the one Vermont one is the one that deals with ppl filling in the east coast..) Do you guys think there will be any problem if i do this? Im afraid that they will loose my paperwork.. or my case will take forever to be approved.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

assuming your greencard will expire May 11, 2011 (basing from your sig timeline) the earliest you can file for ROC is Feb 11, 2011 (90 days)... if it's me, i will move to new location first and will send my packet with my ar11 confirmation (change of address can be printed from when you do it online) to the respective service center in jurisdiction of the state I moved to... As long as the move takes place within 90 days before my 2-year greencard expires. I will give it at least two weeks before greencard expires, just in case something unexpected happens.

Ok, the earliest you can file is Feb 6, 2011... YOu can file now to the service center that is in jurisdiction of your current state and once you move just make sure that you contact them right away (within 10 days after you move). You may be lucky if you receive it before you move (possible but unlikely) but if not, you need to file the Change of address immediately when you get to the new place. This however you cannot do online thru the website.. You have to call them..

Here is the link for information about the change of address. http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/F2eng.pdf

https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa.Terms

Below is an excerpt from the fact sheet in the USCIS website.

"If You Are a Permanent Resident and You Have a Case

Pending With USCIS:

If you have filed any application or petition with us, and it is still

pending a decision, you should keep us informed of any change

of address so you can get any notices or decisions from us. You can now do this electronically on our website for most applications and petitions at the same time you complete your Form AR-11

electronically. Filling out the electronic Form AR-11 is only the first

step. We will ask you for some information about your pending case.

Please have the following information available:

• Your receipt notice or other notice we sent you showing your

receipt number;

• Your new address;

• Your old address;

• The names and biographical information for the person or

persons for whom you have filed;

• When you last entered the United States (if you cannot

remember, please fill in an approximate date); and

• Where you last entered the United States (the port of entry you

entered – land, sea or air)."

My GC expires may 6th and bc i didnt kno when in the month of april i am moving to the east coast i thought that it would be easier here and i would not have to wait till the last minute. Another thing is that my husband is in the military and we are getting ready to go overseas and i need to get my GC asap
