Just out of interest.. although I'm a long way from Citizenship etc.. I got pulled over while visiting the USA and got a speeding ticket (had my UK licence) on a visa waiver January 2004.. I paid the fine etc after returning to the UK etc..i received no points on my licence, just a fine

Would I have to declare that later down the line (for citizenship)? If so, do i need proof or receipt? (i think i may have lost it!)

No a traffic ticket is a Civil Infraction. ... and is not considered a crime...

You don’t have to worry about the receipt. However it's worth mentioning on your application as you have been cited for a traffic violation. Traffic tickets are a minor violation and have no bearing on your moral character, unless it is habitual.

that is the least to worry about when you file for your citizenship. i've got 4 speeding tickets ( i know i've got slow down, can't afford the 5th) within the last 2 years & never got problem ( so far) with it when it concerns to immigration. as long as you pay the fine.
