Urgent Philippines CFO stamp question regarding my infant dual citizen son

My wife and son are flying in 24 hours. She went to the CFO seminar and got the stamp in her passport. My son is a dual-passport holder. I do not believe she was asked about children or got a stamp for him, trying to contact her now about this. Does he need a stamp to leave the country? Anyone know for sure? Please, this is urgent...thanks....

If he travels by his US passport he does not need it.

Thanks. Will this still be true with him showing both his US and Philippines passport? We are trying to avoid the huge departure tax, and to do so, he needs to show both....

I don't think that is correct? The whole point of getting his Phils passport was to avoid paying any departure tax...can you explain what you mean???

I'm a USC and when I left the Philippines all I paid was the Terminal Fee, no Departure or Travel Tax.

Everyone pays the Terminal Fee.


Must have info for bringing your Philippine wife/fiancee's child to the US

Correct terminal fee is paid by everyone. Departure tax is paid for those traveling on a Philippines passport.

I know about the terminal fee, etc. Other taxes have already been paid as part of the ticket.

My question remains: If my son shows both his US and Philippines passport (which he needs to do to avoid paying overstay fees from the day he was born until today!) will they require a CFO stamp in his Philippines passport or not? Anyone here have the experience of their dual citizen child leaving the Philippines for the first time? If so, did you have a CFO stamp in the child's Philippines passport or not when you showed both passports as you exited the Philippines?

you dont have to worry about ur infant son.. it is not too much of a tax for a baby below 2 years old, only costs like 200 php...which is like 5 usd.

i traveled with my baby nephew before and thats all we paid

word of advice:

my husband is a dual citizen USC/PH , in the future if your son may need to stay in the phils for long time, that will save you immigration fees...

my husband stayed here around 1 yr 1 month before he left for us last week and we didnt pay any charges for immigration. you may only be charged if you will overstay or anything in that nature...

that's where our USCIS process ends for now.. will wait for the next 3-4 years what we'll do next...

Your U.S. citizen child DOES NOT need CFO sticker in Philippine Passport. I wondered the same thing concerning my two dual U.S. / Philippine citizen daughters, so I sent an email to the CFO. I was amazed they answered me, but according to them ONLY persons immigrating need the CFO counseling / sticker.

You must show both passports at airport immigration. U.S. passport only - looking at overstay penalty. They will stamp both passports. In the Philippine passport they will stamp regular departure stamp. The U.S. passport will have departure stamp with "PP" initialed showing that a Philippine Passport was used for identification at departure.
