Undying hope

Today I sit here in silence and in fear,

wondering if we'll always have hope.

My mind is foggy and my thoughts unclear,

I do nothing else but mope.

I clench to dreams that fade away,

I wait for absent signs of light.

No sunshine is visible, not one ray,

my reason and faith start to fight.

Unable to move, unable to see,

I struggle to doubt no more.

I continue to pray to be set free,

I long for the strength I had before.

The more I move, the more I sink,

into a cornucopia of withered souls.

I desperately search for the missing link,

that will allow me to regain control.

Yet in the midst of infinite turmoil,

hope refuses to come to naught.

It will fight back, it will incessantly toil,

until it recovers what it long sought.

Wrote this a couple of years ago very early in our journey.

When the rays of the new risen

sun in the east

kiss my lovers cheek

Please God let her know

that I send that kiss

as I watch the sun set in the west

For only He knows that of all things

of His creation

I love her the best.

Many Winters Have Gone By

Many winters have gone by,

I sit and watch you grow.

I feel an urge to whip and cry,

wishing time would go by slow.

I see your pictures and stare,

comparing to what you are now.

Thinking that this is unfair,

I have to accept it, but how?

I've protected you all this time,

or at least I have tried.

Indeed, nature is not a crime,

but to you I feel tied.

You are my reason of living,

you are the light of the sun.

For you, life is worth giving,

I feel my work is undone.

I still feel your little hand,

always looking for mine.

But I guess this is the end,

I’m sure you’ll be just fine.
