Ahh you don't. After you send in packet 3 with all documents you will receive a letter for interview and any request of papers that they may want on the day.

The USC can call DOS. They will know if London have logged in your Packet 3 forms

It looks like London are running at about 2 months right now, between your case leaving NVC to getting an interview date. Hope you get yours soon.

Packet 3 is just a link to the London Embassy website with instructions of the forms to fill out. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html So if you haven't done these, get them done, But don't send them in untill you know packet 3 letter has been sent to you.

You can book your medical as soon as you have your LDN#, and yes, the results will be sent to the Embassy.

i've got these forms downloaded and completed but wasn't sure if they sent ones in packet 3, that had specific ref numbers for example - good to know i can use the downloads

this is from the letter my fiance received on 7th january, dated 3rd january

"your fiance will soon receive a packet with instructions from the consular

section on how to apply for the K1 visa at that post and what documents will be

required."

so i know it'll be here "soon" (love the loose terms they use :) )

but i don't know how to find out if the embassy has received our applicationpackage from the visa centre or how to find out if packet 3 has been sent!

i was dead against doing anything before i got it all officially, in case i caused a problem or delay but knowing i could because all the froms are online is so tempting...

i tried the £1:20 a minute 'helpline' but not so helpful...

any ideas??

If you can, get your USC fiance to call the Department of State 1-202-663-1225 . They can track everything on your case and it is much cheaper

This may be a stupid question.. but when you say running about 2 months to getting an interview date, I'm assuming you wait 2 months, THEN get your date. If so, typically how long is the wait until the interview? For example, if London receives your case today, in two months you get your date.. is the date pretty close to when they notify you or do you wait ages again for that?

09-10-10 | Sent 129F to Texas lockbox

09-13-10 | NOA1 received

02-03-11 | NOA2 finally received

02-08-11 | NOA2 hardcopy

02-17-11 | NVC received

02-25-11 | Consulate received

03-03-11 | Packet 3 received

03-04-11 | Packet 3 sent

03-11-11 | Medical

03-28-11 | Interview!

03-31-11 | Visa Received

04-15-11 | POE Chicago

Like i said in my post,"It looks like London are running at about 2 months right now, between your case leaving NVC to getting an interview date"....... So to break it down for you, from the time that your petition leaves NVC, gets logged into London, London send out packet 3, you send back packet 3 ASAP, to London logging your packet 3 and sending out packet 4 with you interview date on it. The time between your petition leaving NVC to your actual interview date, is just over 2months at the moment. This is provided that you get packet 3 back to them in a timely manner and that you get your medical done in between all of this, if you delay packet 3's return then it will obviously take you longer to get to your interview.
