Again, please keep in mind a lot of UK applicants did not receive a P3 in the mail. I wouldn't wait to get a physical copy if I were you otherwise you'll be waiting forever. If we had waited for it we would still be waiting instead of at our interview stage. Just confirm your case has been logged then send out your forms.

thanks

it actually just arrived!

will make medical appt tomorrow and get all forms completed and sent tomorrow as well

great to get feedback from someone dealing with the LDN embassy, as they all seem to vary from each other...

another step forward...sigh of relief

again, thanks

I obviously haven't done this part yet, but from reading the Part II section of this form, it would make sense that you would. Especially because it is the 'Sworn Statement' section.

And also on the K1 instructions from the Embassy website it tells you to download both DS-230 part I and II, but to only send off part I with your packet 3 documents. That would leave Part II for interview day.

A K1 does not need DS-230 Part 2. Ever.

I keep saying this, but again...everything you need to bring to the interview in London is listd on this page Documents Required for the Visa Interview.

The list without explantions is:

Birth Certificate

Adoption Certificate

Passports

Marriage Certificates

Termination of Prior Marriages

Military Records

Affidavit of Support

Police Certificates

Court and Prison Records

Photographs (passport style)

Translations

If it doesn't apply to your situation, then you don't bring it. Notice it doesn't say DS-230 Part 2. Nor does it say photo albums and evidence of your relationship. For most young, never married, British born, law abiding K1s, that leaves a short list of what to bring---

Birth Certificate

Passports

Affidavit of Support

Police Certificates

Photographs (passport style)

Thanks for the info. Duly noted.

But why would they have mentioned it in Gap1's interview letter as a requirement, if it is not required?

Dunno. If she would scan her letter and post it, we'd know what it says. Letters, RFEs, forms etc tend to be one-size-fits-all so can be very general or vague if you try to think it is written specifically to you about your case.

Part 2 is for immigrant visas like CR1, normally sent to the NVC for processing.

It wasn't in the letter, it's on the UK embassy site. It's here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv_019.pdf

so I understand all the forms needed in packet 3... question is about DS-2001. I understand this is sent saying you are ready for the interview.. can this be sent even though you have not had your medical? I.E, your medical is booked, just hasn't happened? I couldn't find any info on this and it's probably an obvious, yes, you can send it, but I wanted to double check!

hi, quick question. Our case was forwarded from the NVC to the london embassy about a week ago. We still have yet to receive packet 3, and the embassy told us that it has been received but no further action had been taken. Is there another number we could call? I cannot find the US DOS number that everyone is speaking about. We have all paperwork ready to go, just cannot figure out if we have been logged in London yet.. Any help of advice is greatly appreciated.

Take a look at this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/ Obviously you are past the NVC stage, but the DOS phone # and shortcuts are there.

I've mentioned this before, but we never ended up getting P3 at all. We just confirmed they logged our case then we went ahead and sent in the forms without actually getting the packet. You don't need it.

All my fiance received in the mail was a poorly-formatted letter telling him to book a medical appointment a month after he had it.
