Next Steps NOA2

So having just received my NOA2 - after 5 and half months - we have finally moved on to the next steps but now I am feeling a little lost! And looking for advice to make sure im doing everything correctly.

The approval came on the 30th online ( still waiting for hard copy ) i called NVC last night and they have not yet recieved it, i will try again tonight. Is this about right? Say baout a week to get to NVC?

Secondly, I will wait for packet 3 to fill in the forms to send back to embassy along with the form syaing im ready for interview. I will get Matt ( petitioner) to fill in the I134 along with all the other stuff to support it before I go home ( I am visiting at the moment). Am i right in saying this will be - last 3 years of tax returns, pay stubs, letter from employer, and bank statement?

Then I have my BC (full), police cert, still need to get american photos, and is there anything else other than proof of relationship/photos??

Yes thank u that helps - so as long as I can get the LDN case number to say its been logged at London I can send in the forms??? I dont have to wait for the packet 3 to come in the post?

No!! You will have to wait till it is logged at London. NVC will generate the LDN number, before your case even reaches London

Oh ok soory im mistaken, you have to wait until NVC can confirm that its been 'logged in' before I send the forms!!

Okay, so once your case goes to NVC they will generate your LDN number, which you should be able to get in a week or so.

After it leaves NVC then DOS is your best friend, and they will track your case from here on out 'Dodi' made a good post about contact numbers for DOS here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/

They will be able to tell you when your case has been logged in at London, when packet 3 has been sent out (as soon as you know it has been then you can send the forms in), when they have logged packet 3 into their system, and when London have scheduled your interview date.

It is much easier, and less exspensive, to get info from DOS than from contacting London Embassy

Hi guys

Assoon as we got LND numberi booked medical. I have never received packet 3 even though they say they sent. I sent all my forms for packet 3 a week after they had my case. I also paid the visa fee aswell. They got my case on 4th of decemberand i sent packet3 on 8th. Its all been processed and my forms qualified justwaiting on inteview. If need any advice on forms just drop me a line. Good luck on your journey!

OK Lucy, Calm down! NVC logs it in; does their thing (including assigning the LDN number) and then sends it on to the embassy. All this while, DOS can see what is happening. I only called DOS. They can give you all of the information that you need after you provide them with the EAC number from your NOA1 or NOA2.

When your case gets to the embassy in London, the embassy will log it in. DOS can see this as well. This is what is meant when they say "Received by embassy". It is at this point that you can then send in the DS-230 Part 1 and the other form.

I gave up on calling NVC because I could never get them. It always rang busy. I got all of my information from DOS. As soon as NVC enters your petition into their system, DOS has the information and can update you from there.

NVC automated line will never have a K1 case. (correct me somebody if they've changed this) You must speak to a person to ask your questions.

I want to say again like I said in that post you were linked to---London may not even open your package when it arrives from NVC for days or weeks. So while you don't have to wait to receive their letter (it's not a packet of forms), you need to know they have opened your stuff from NVC and put you in their computers, ie "logged your case." Sending your forms before they are aware of your case (logged it) could end up with things misplaced. You could get to the interview and they can't find those DS forms...weirder things have happened.

I think you mentioned somewhere in this thread about proof of relationship and photos. London doesn't ask for that. If you try to show them photos they will probably politely decline. NO evidence of your relationship. NO photos.

They want you to show up with the stuff on THIS PAGE so read it carefully...every bit of it so you don't miss anything.

According to this site, I-129F's with an NOA2 date of roughly 9 days ago (December 26th) are being processed at the moment.

Then it is roughly 4 days to go through NVC, and a further 4 days to get to the London Embassy

Thanks Guys all alot of help, ive heard London doesnt ask u for proof usually but to take it anyway just in case. Also, i was under the impression that NVC do update u on thier automated line? Or so it seems as it accepts my EAC number just says we have not receieved it yet!!
