Registering Marriage in Brazil

For anyone who has actually done this...

We have registered our marriage with the Brazilian Consulate in the US. How do we make it official in Brazil and change things like my wife's last name, etc.? Do both spouses need to be there or can one of us go and make the changes?

I think we can change her passport in the US but beyond that I'm lost. Can she get a new birth certificate?

Nos registramos nosso casamento no Consulado Brasileiro nos Estados Unidos. Como devemos proceder no Brasil sobre mudando papeis como o sobrenome da minha esposa para o de casada, etc? Ambos devemos estar no Brasil pra transcrever o casamento?

Ela tera que tirar uma nova certidao de nascimento no Brasil certo? O maximo de informacoes que alguem puder compartilhar sera bem-vindo!

Nos tambem registramos nosso casamento no consulado aqui dos Estados Unidos. Ainda nao fizemos no Brasil, mas foi dito para nos que no momento que meu esposo (brasileiro) volta para la, tem 6 meses so para cuidar disso. Sei que e feito no cartorio, e acho que seria so ele que precisa ir, mas ja que eu vou viajar junta, vou tambem. Para mim precisaria so do papel dado no consulado e o passaporte para mostrar identidade. Os dados ja estao no papel do consulado d'aqui e foi necessario mostrar todos os documentos para tirar este papel. Enquanto o novo certidao de nacimento, sei que isto vai mostrar que ela e casada e nao mais solteira. Para mudar o nome dela, eu nao sei como e feito no Brasil, mas ela pode tirar uma passaporte nova no consulado brasileiro da sua cidade aqui nos Estados. Por favor se souber mais arespeito de registrar no Brasil, me avisa. Tudo de bom!
