Gang Assaults Marine and Wife at Hometown Movie Theater

Apparently it wasn't much of a Crime, judging from the sentence.

The circumstances of someone being shot in the back or being shot in the front can be very meaningful... depending on the circumstances.

The guy died in front of a house 'down the block' from the old man's house. The old man wasn't in fear of his life.

Either way, a man is dead, 3 kids don't have a father, and you say 'it wasn't much of a crime' which I find deplorable.

Under normal circumstances, I would deffo say that military men and women deserve a respect solely to them...for they write checks to Uncle Sam 'up to and the amount of my life'. Trite sentiment, sure...but nonetheless true. For this Marine to come home from defending our people and land to be assaulted by teens just turns my stomach. But in the instance of this old man who gunned down a man over a lawn? His respect is now gone, at least from me. At one point, I would have called him honorable and courageous, and worthy of my admiration and gratitude...as I feel towards all military people, past and present...but now that he's done something so heinous...he has my contempt.

Yes, there is that. Supposedly they want you to feel differently about the crime because it happened to a soldier, not because it happened at all.
