We were under AP for two years. Now both the State Department and Embassy say we are no longer under AP but no Visa has been issued so we need to wait. So I asked for an appointment at the Embassy because I am going there soon. This is when they said please wait a few days the applicant will be called. A month later I asked again about appointment because no call came. They again asked that we wait a few days applicant will be called. It seems that a few embassy 'days' is really a few months.

After about 10 months I wrote to my Congressman. His staff wrote to the State Department and to the Embassy. They would follow up with me every 8 weeks and continue to check on any progress. So from the Congressman I was very happy with his staffs efforts on our behalf. It was actually a Congressional Liason back in October that sent an email saying we should hear in 15 days. When that didn't happen I asked the congressmans staff to ask again. This time her reply was congratulations he is approved. This is when I started writing to the embassy again and being told "a few days". Maybe the Holidays is what made the "few days" turn into 37 so far. Two years IS way too long, and I never went back to see him because we always thought we must be close, only a few more weeks.. save the money for when he comes. No matter where we are in this process; God willing I will see him soon. Tickets are purchased and bags are packed.
