EAD Expedition

Hi All

My wife & I finally filed for AOS/EAD & AP on Dec 21 as we had sadly put the wrong fee in the original application & lost a good 10 days waiting for it to return to us.

My question is does anyone know if it is possible to expedite the EAD application once it is in the system & has a receipt number attached? (I guess after NOA1)

If it is possible, is anyone on this forum an actual recipient of an expedited EAD & how did they do it?

How easy is it to be done & can it be almost guaranteed?

We are desperate for me to get back into employment as we have all of next year to save & plan for our full wedding & honeymoon, as well as the making a good lifestyle for ourselves.

Thanks to all

Expediting is possible after you've filed your documents. However, you need to have a good reason for doing it. If you go to the USCIS website, there is a section that talks about the grounds to expedite a request.

As you can see in my timeline, I recently got our senator to expedite my EAD for employment purposes. I had also called our congress representative, but she said there was nothing the could do until my application had been with USCIS for 3 months.

So, it doesn't hurt to try, but whoever you contact (senator or congress), they will decide if your EAD should be expedited or not.

Good luck!

I've checked out the USCIS site but can't seem to find out how to expedite any of the applications we send in.

Do you have an idea how to find it or a link perhaps? Thanks.

After all of the USCIS and CBP screw-ups on our case after my husband's POE, we contacted our Senator's office today to request their help in expediting his EAD. I had to take time off work to help fix mistakes they made and it's cost us a lot of money in the end. Our savings are about null, and I'm able to support our family of four, but it's getting tighter by the day.

I figure, the worse they can do is say no, but one of the qualifications for expedition is USCIS error, and although it wasn't necessarily the I-765 they made the error on, they lost the entire hard copy of his K1 file, so I figure that equates to a related serious error on the part of the CBP and USCIS.

Our case was transferred to the CSC on Monday, so it's entirely possible that his EAD is being processed now anyway. It's also entirely possible that it's sitting on someone's desk somewhere holding up a coffee cup. I just want to see if it's possible to get some help. Here's hoping.

Hi! My husband and I are in a similar situation where USCIS made an error with our EAD application. They completely overlooked it when we submitted it with our AOS application. Now they are telling us to file again and put in expedite request. We applied 103 days ago, so we are well pat the typical 90 day wait. Our plan is to call USCIS the day we get a receipt number. Do you suggest we contact our Senator that same day? How did you do that exactly and what did you say? We are super frustrated and hope to fix this quickly!
