Co Sponsor Question

I'm just starting the K-1 process for my English fiance. Does anyone know if I don't quite meet the financial requirements can my fiance's savings and assets be included or do I have to get a co sponsor? Also, is the co sponsor basically only responsible to make sure that my fiance does not go on any public assistance which we definately won't? If anyone has an idea before I send anything in, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi, You didn't say how much money you earned per year. Here are the poverty guildlines http://www.fiancee-visa.info/fiancee_visa_requirements.html

It's the US Citizen's income (the sponsor) and if the sponsor doesn't earn the required amount then you will need a co sponsor that does to insure they dont become a public charge as you said. Good Luck :)

London does allow a K1 to self-sponsor. I'm aware of several who have done it. You will find information regarding how to document the immigrant's funds on THIS PAGE. The fiance's assets can make up the difference in the gap between your income and the needed amount. It won't be until he/she attends the interview that the Affidavit of Support is provided so you have 6+ months to get those things in order.
