CFO For Daughter

Both our daughters are US/Phil citizens. I am thinking of bringing my older daughter to the U.S. for a visit. No problem as far as U.S. is concerned, but I have a question about the CFO Peer Counselling and CFO sticker in her Phil Passport. She is 12 (will turn 13 in Feb 2011). Does she, in fact, need this?? Don't want any problems at the airport immigration. Also, does she need DSWD travel authorization?? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Exit the PH/Enter the US with her US Passport and there is no need for CFO. Technically she isn't an immigrant if she's a US Citizen.

kids have to take CFO seminar as well? i thought it was only for spouses/fiances of foreign nationals to take?

Technically the kids under a certain age (I'm not sure the cut-off age) don't need to attend the seminar but they do need the sticker in their passport. The parent will secure it upon their completion of the seminar and payment of appropriate fees.

Kids 12 years old or older have a Peer Counseling requirement to meet before they are issued a CFO sticker. Children below 12 just need the CFO sticker.

From what I understand, kids from 12 to 17 years of age need to attend "Peer Counseling" at CFO. According to Philippine Immigration she will present both Passports at airport immigration, and both Passports will be stamped when she exits the Philippines. Her U.S. passport will have the regular departure stamp with the annotation "PP" (Philippine Passport). Her Philippine Passport will be stamped with regular departure stamp. I just don't want her to get to the airport, and find out she also needs the CFO sticker in her Philippine Passport. When she enters the U.S., she will present her U.S. passport. I thought someone might have gone through this. Thanks.

thanks for the info guys & gals. much appreciated. but one more question...since my kids are below 12, does my wife then just bring their passport with her when she does the seminar and then they will stamp it?

Your wife completes the guidance and counseling requirement, gets her blue certificate.

At CFO office, bring her passport, her blue certificate and the kids' passports, along with their CFO registration forms, ID pictures and fees. CFO issues all of them stickers and will affix them in their respective passports. Wife also receives green certificate which will be stapled into her passport.

As far as I know, CFo stickers are only for immigrants. If your kid is a dual citizen, he is not an immigrant. So no need. The only reason he needs his Phil Passport is for proof that he his an Filipino citizen, in which case, an exit clearance is not needed.
