Based on my experience, give them the original marriage certificate not a certified copy.

Rhonda you will need a police report at the NVC stage if you turned one in during the USCIS stage then you will need one here. It takes about three weeks for them to finish in Ghana so I will put the request through immediately. You will have to send the original copy of the marriage certificate plus a copy. Read over the wiki that Loto put together it is quite helpful.
