We sent the i-129 form on 11/23/2010 to Dallas Processing Center. The check we sent was cached yesterday 12/3. I noticed some folks got notifications via email. Is that how the government agency communicates in these days? Should I expect something in the mail with a number to track the progress?

Your check that was cashed should have a number on it that will help you access the online notifications. On the back. Or you can just wait for your NOA 1, which will have all your info. Be patient; it's a long haul.

If you wanted to receive e-mail or text notification you should have completed an additional form and add it to your packet (optional). You should be receiving the mail notification (NOA 1) within one week or so. Be prepared to wait around 5 months for adjudication of your petition.
