Hello to All The VJ members and guests.

I'd like to know from those have had the experience regardiing the return of the passport that is dropped off after the interview at the local Consulate when one gets approved.

After the Passport is dropped off with DHL where does it travel to get the visa in the passport for travel? I just checked DHL's web with the tracking number my dad just provided me and something just did not seem right see below.

Origin Service Area: KINGSTON - JAMAICA

Destination Service Area: KINGSTON - JAMAICA

Shipment on hold

called DHL and said that there may have been an error with the true destination of the package and to contact the Kingston Embassy so they can contact the local DHL that is located within the embassy.

Thank you.

Hi!

That happened to us as well.

It just means that the passport originated from Kingston and the nearest service facility is Kingston.

The shipment on hold means the Embassy still has the passport and has not sent it out.

If you call the local DHL number a customer service rep will also explain this.

I called DHL in the U.S. and they had no clue as to what’s going with the package and referred us to the local DHL number. The local number is 876-920-0010. They open at 8:30a local time.

Ours said Montego Bay and I was concerned that we would have to pick it up in Mobo.

It just meant the closest facility to St. Ann’s is Mobo.

DHL should call the number you provided when you paid for the service before they attempt to deliver it.

I would also recommend that you sign up for the notification via text or email online.

Hope all goes well!

Praying they do get it before that as well...mi jus realize mi spell u name rang sarry bout dat but my eye dem tiyad fram lack of sleep. My cousin was pissed because her passport was in Mobay 3 days ealier but the system was not updated didn't make sense to fuss with DHL because they told her the system updates everyday at 2pm and that she was looking at the wrong thing -- when she signed for it she saw the date that it was delivered...they didn't put it in the system until a few days later. It's a good thing she not in a hurry to leave.
