How to Send Evidence

We’re preparing our I-751 to mail this week and we’re not sure how to bundle the evidence. I remember with previous applications we were not suppose to staple anything. Also others here mentioned that they wrote their alien # on the evidence. I’ve read both the I-751 Instructions and the Visa Journey Step-By-Step guide and see nothing about either. I suppose it wouldn't be a good idea to send a tabbed binder full of evidence?

Also we’re sending all bank statements but only about five or six copies (spanning the last two years) of utility/insurance bills and paycheck stubs. Is this OK or do most people send all?

I like the idea of writing the alien # on evidence so we’ll do that even if it is not required, but is there anything else we should include? Also can we staple individual evidence or should we only use paper and binder clips?

Thanks for any advice!

Writing your A # on everything is a good idea in case it gets lost or separated from the rest of the package. That would be the only reason. We are using one of those little clips meant to hold material together that has been two-hole-punched at the top (drawing a blank on the name at the moment). That is not NECESSARY and I know that other people have done different things, but it allows them to rearrange your packet if they need to but still holds everything together if they don't.

I would not send every bank statement for the last two years because your package could end up weighing a ridiculous amount and costing a lot to send. Send the earliest and most recent and a few in between and they will get the idea that you've maintained joint accounts throughout your marriage. Same for any joint utility bills and insurance.

We are getting ours ready to mail this week also. We have I think about 9 or 10 bank statements, 8 or so utility bills, and 3 contracts for major home repairs. We somehow managed not to save any of our old car insurance cards so we are only sending the current insurance cards, and I'm sending 4 different medical benefits statements showing my husband is on my plan.

Just to give you the heads up - send your package and have USCIS receive it prior to Nov 23rd or else you have to pay the new fee... so if it is almost ready, spend an extra hour today and mail it by tomorrow!

The new fee is $505 and the new biometrics fee is $85... so a total of $590

Hello :) For my AOS Application I had a lawyer prepare the forms, so I used that application as a reference when I put my Removal of Conditions Application together. I just sent mine out this past Wednesday and I did everything myself. After the application and copy of the green card I added a page that said "Evidence Contents List" and listed the evidence that was included. Then, I put the evidence in that order and made a cover page for each section of evidence that corresponded with the Table of Contents.

I didn't include the A# on each page but that is a really good idea.

Hope that helps!

I think I know what you're talking about. Did you put the evidence in a folder or just connect it with those metal prongs (if I'm thinking of the right thing)?

We plan on Express Mailing our application either Wednesday or Thursday, so it should be in CA by Friday in time to beat the fee increase.

Maybe when I go to the office supply store tomorrow to make color copies of our driver's licenses and green card I'll buy a presentation folder or something. I hate to just send a bunch of paper even though that is what we did last time.

Also if anyone is thinking of what additional evidence to send- I'm considering sending copies of our state and city taxes. We already have our IRS transcripts. I'm assuming it can't hurt but we're trying to avoid sending this in a box so maybe not. Good idea, bad idea? Also I haven't read about anyone sending Social Security Statements- We're sending our most recent (we've only had once each since our marriage).

Also I'm assuming staples are OK?
