I'm in limbo right now and haven't started anything, but leaning towards the K3. Not ready to move to the US yet because I just started a new job & a family member is ill.

So, why not get married & start the K3 process right? This will allow me to stay in Canada, my husband (to be) visits when he can, and works his seasonal job in the US.

With the K1, I'll have to do the following WHEN the forms tell me to: Quit my job, leave my apt. (or pay for it while I'm gone for 90 days). Can't leave the US without filing out another form that takes too long in case of an emergency.

Has anyone gone through this?

This is why the K-3 would work perfectly. However, the K-3 was administratviely closed earlier this year. It is no longer an option and it will be closed by NVC once USCIS approves the petition.

Sorry, your plan won't work

You may petition for a K-1 or a Cr-1 spousal visa. The spousal visa will make you a permemant resident upon entry to the US but allows for immediate work and travel

Waited...

September 29, 2015 - sent letter to senator.

October 16, 2015 - US Citizen
