The approved petition is first sent to NVC and then to the embassy in Trinidad. NVC is not mentioned on the notice but all petitions go through it first.

AOS: April 2011 - June 2011

ROC: April 2013 - August 2013

Okie thank you. I was just wondering because just saw someone on the june csc forum that we were on before say that they got an email from the embassy in sydney saying they got the approval and now to submit packet 3 but they never even got the noa2.. No email no text not even the hard copy in the mail. So it bypassed the noa2 and nvc..

Well I guess I shouldn't have made a big deal about it after all. I just called NVC again today and found out that they just sent our petition to the Manila Embassy today. Just a nice quick stop. I just thought I'd let you guys know of the progress. Seems to me that I always get the good news on a Friday(I found out that my application got approved last Friday)! Another nice way to spend the weekend. I'm so glad that no additional processing/review was needed for my case. TGIF everyone!

Cheers!

My fiance has been trying to call NVC all week but can't get through. When is it a good time to call to speak to an operator?

Thanks for the info Inky. But I'm kinda dealing with things every step of the way. Right now I'm worried about the NVC step. My question is, can one say that the general rule of thumb is that if you get assigned your case # that you're clear from AP (at NVC so that it's clear) and that you just have to wait for NVC to ship your papers or is it not?

No, you cannot say that. In one case fairly recently, the petitioner got not ONE, but THREE, letters from NVC stating their petition had been sent o the consulate) and when the consulate didn't report it being there it was discovered it was STILL being held at NVC more than 8 weeks AFTER they sent a letter saying it was on its way to the consulate. You WILL NOT get any meaningful information by telephone no matter how many times you redial. The contracted telephone operator has no way of knowing what is happening with your case and rarely even has accurate information. Case numbers are assigned as the cases are received. You have an NVC case number before you receive your NOA2 in the mail.

At no point can you say you can assume anything. When the consulate RECEIVES your case...NVC is done with it. AP can, and does, happen at any point in the process EVEN after the visa is approved and EVEN after visas are ISUUED (though it is rare, some visas get RECALLED after they are issued)

Never really. NVC operators have no more information than your fiancee does. USCIS and NVC do not do business by telephone. They have the phone lines because legislation required them to have it. The legislation does not require them to give useful information

when the consulate receives it, you will know it was sent. Good luck.
