Utility Bills

Will there be any problem if we don't have a utility bill that has my name on it? all other documents we have has my name on it including our lease agreement, car insurance, joint taxes, joint bank accounts, birth certificate of our son, medical insurance, and etc. but still wondering if this would affect us negatively. we don't have time to change our utility profile to include my name because we only have a week until we submit our ROC documents to USCIS. please advise.

Hi,

As long as you have a good list of evidence, you do not need to worry about a single utility bill (my assumption is single since you said "a utility bill"). Each item in the evidence is just a confirmation of the many different aspects of your life together. I think you should be just fine as long as you have other items to submit that could cover such aspects.

Don't worry about the utility bills. You have a lease agreement in both names, which shows common residence, and joint bank accounts, which shows financial commingling. You should be fine.

Thanks v333k and SonoranSongBird for your replies. We relocated from CA to AZ and since we are too busy with the move my husband and I didn't really thought of adding both of our names in any of our utility bills since both our licenses will show that we have the same home address plus the apartment lease.

It would be a good idea to get both names on the utilities in case more evidence is needed after you submit the I-751.
