Applying for new social security number with expired I-94

I'm planning on applying for a social security number once I recieve my EAD....

It says on here: http://www.ssa.gov/ss5doc/oriselfres.htm that to prove your U.S. immigration status, you must show your current U.S. immigration document, I-94, Arrival/Departure Record, issued to you when you arrived in the United States...

My I-94 has expired. I actually just got it replaced (because I lost the original) and the replacement doesn't have any dates or anything on it, or a stamp, but the paper that it came with shows the validity date and so that's how I know it has expired. The new I-94 just shows my I-94 # my name, DOB, and country of citizenship. I know they will probably verify that document with USCIS before they issue me a number so they will know it's expired...

How can I apply for a social security number with an expired I-94?? Could I use another document to prove my immigration status? I mean, obviously by the time I get my EAD, my I-465 will still be pending so my immigration status will still be an overstay (I don't know if that's the correct term)... but will I even be able to apply for a social security number then?

Please help :(

u cant apply for ssn if i-94 expired,

just wait until ur EAD come..

That's what I'm saying... will I still need my I-94 if I already have my EAD or will I have to wait for my green card since the I-94 is expired?
