CAN WE DELAY OUR INTERVIEW DATE ???

Please can you give me your suggestions. Nigerian embassy recieved our case on 08-11-06. How long will it take for them to mail packet 3 to my fiance. I don't want her to go for the interview until the second week of october. The reason for this is that we have all the evidence required but we do not have pictures. I'm going home by the first week of october to take as many pictures as possible. What do you think we can do? If she goes to the embassy now she will probably get an earlier than october interview date. But i'm thinking if she wait for them to mail the packets, that will buy us some time for me to go home and take those pictures. Please, can you tell me how your fiance did hers.

I am confused.... why would you have to delay your interview so you can take photo's????

Unless you are going to use them as evidence.... but if you only just took them and they ask when was this taken? do you not think it will look odd that you will have to say "oh just last week"....

So we should go to the interview without any photos of us together? we lost all the once we had before. Pictures are a very powerful evidence.

Did you send photos with your I-129F? I would just explain that you lost the photos.... ####### happens. I certainly wouldn't delay David's interview for that reason. We took NO photos when he was here last... dn't ask me why... we just didn't. But I'm not worried about it.

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Lagos embassy is slow. It would be at least 3 months for them to schedule the interview. You should be fine. If you ask them to reschedule you are talking 3+ additional months of waiting.

If you have pictures from a few weeks that you are there, that is fine. I seriously doubt any officer will notice, "Hey, you look just like these pictures! You couldn't have aged a day!" If they ask when you took them, be honest. Say when you took them and say you lost the earlier pictures. I lived with my husband for two years before we applied for the visa. We took maybe five pictures during those two years. We had a ton of pictures at the interview but they were from subsequent visits. They didn't ask for any timetable as to when the pictures were taken.

Let the Lagos embassy work as it does and take your pictures when you can. Don't worry.

Actually Lagos Embassy is moving very fast now. They are going at the rate of 20-25 days from packet 3&4. Check the African forum to see what i mean.

just do what would be comfortable with you guys, you can ask for a re-schedule of an interview, well pictures are VERY important, and filing this kind of petition is no joke, so start gathering as many evidence as you can, i have read alot of interview experiences here in the Philippines and all of them were asked for photos, the more you have the more chances are, and of course, the affidavit of support is one of the most important, including snail mails, phone bills, tickets and boarding passes if you have travelled together, hotel reciepts with your names on it..thanks.
