Received my biometrics appointment letter today for January 3rd. Received my 11 year old's biometrics appointment letter too! :wacko:

Going to try a walk-in tomorrow or Friday, and also ask them to clarify/ rectify the 11 year old's call for biometrics.

Good luck with the walk in!

My daughter is 14 - she DID have her biometrics done at the same time as me.....

Kinda funny how glued we get to these case updates. Before the technology was able to check the case online, we would just be sitting pretty waiting for something in the mail. Instead we get paranoid

We were sent separate letters for biometrics. First letter received was for AOS biometrics, and the second 1 or 2 weeks later was for the EAD. Yes having to do your biometrics again would be a delay

Sent my RFE yesterday. Just so anyone who gets RFE knows, my RFE was sent to a PO Box in Missouri and Fedex/UPS won't deliver to a PO Box; only USPS does and it takes two days even for Express Post.

My daughter is 14 - she DID have her biometrics done at the same time as me.....

Yeah, I'm 100% that she isn't supposed to have them until she's 14. My theory is that the EAD application has meant them overlooking the fact that she's only 11. I only need an EAD for her so she can get a SSN in time for our tax return, because it's easier than getting a TIN from the IRS.

Will let you know what happens.

BTW, have you seen the K-2 info thread I started? Please do take a sec to pop along and add anything that you can think of that you wish you'd known or would be helpful to future K-2 applicants :)

Feb wow y so late they told me I have to wait 30 to 60 days

Well they said that it has to be 90 days from the receipt of my application otherwise they cant do anything. i asked them if any letters other then the NOA1 have been sent and they couldn't tell me anything.

Nope, not if you don't want to travel. And if you needed to as an emergency, you can make an infopass appointment. And if you ended up waiting a very long time for your GC, and you decided to go on vacation or travel home for a visit, you can apply normally using a copy of your NOA1.

So I popped in to ask, and they explained that they have to have their photo taken. No fingerprints until they're 12 years and 9 months, to allow for processing time, I guess?

I asked if I could do mine today, since I happened to be there and also, if I could change Kayt's so that she wasn't out of school for just a photo. Tucson don't allow walk-ins, apparently but they did bring both of our appointments forward to December 29th for us. My birthday! lol

ok im back from my biometrics appointment in orlando...we only waited like 15 min and then i was done with finger printing and photo taking in like 6 min. the lady was super nice and friendly. Now the waiting continuoes...

I have a new best friend: my senator's aide! Afer trying different things to expedite my EAD, I contacted my senator and her aide just blew me away. I got my biometrics appointment letter on Monday (scheduled for 12-22), but took a chance and did a successful walk-in yesterday. Called the aide back as she had asked me to do and she said she would "take it from there". She was not playing around: got a text message from USCIS this pm saying that my EAD card was in production!!! :dance: I can now call my employer and get back to work once I get the card. So very grateful and happy.
