Is this normal? We went to our K1 interview and were approved. The interviewer kept tax returns and w2's from petitioner and co-sponsor. Now that we're adjusting our status, it's again requesting copies of these same forms. We dont' have them, they do!? Did we mess up not asking for them back? I guess we have to ask my accountant, and the co-sponsors accountant for hopefully copies of previous filed tax returns?

Anyone else in this boat?

Thanks!

WHen I went for my I-485 Interview- she asked me for my husbands divorce papers (from when he was married before) we had already send them in, and i could see them in the file infront of her, but she still wanted copies (no idea why) so we had to run around Atlanta to get these faxed to us from the court house, so ya it is normal that they ask for things twice, make sure you always have copies of everything you intend to show/send in, as they will for sure ask for it again!

Yeah, we had copies of everything, and I had brought the originals with me. When I gave the interviewer my papers, I told them they were copies but I had the originals if he wanted to see them...

Can you get the papers again? Maybe make 5 copies, just to be on the safe side :P ... Sucks that you have to go through that though...

When we had our interview I just gave them scanned copies of everything. I didn't give them any originals, I even gave them scanned tax transcripts. Looks like you might have to get with your accountant to get some copies made so you will be able to send them in with your AOS papers. Make sure you have a extra copy of them to keep with you too. You could also request tax transcripts from the irs for the last 3 years.. it's free of charge.
