Hi everyone,

had my AOS interview in san jose on friday. I have learnt a lot from this website from several vjers experiences. I too would like to share my experience.

Our AOS interview was pretty straight forward, was kinda nervous. Started of by reviewing the I-485 (he found a couple of mistakes). Then asked questions if we are working. proof of relationship. DOBs and how we met. and that was it.

He said everything looks good... but (hate it when they say this) the background check needs to be completed. He said approx 2 weeks - 2months. I asked him wasn't this processed earlier at the embassy. he said probably not since that was for a non-immigrant visa. this time its for permanent residence.

My question though, on occasion i have to go on business because of work abroad. I have an AP but can I use this multiple times? Or can i use it only twice (since they only sent two copies of the travel document).

Thanks everyone. and good luck to all.

Congrats. It sounds like your interview went very well.

About your AP question. Did you request multiple trips or single use? If you selected multiple trips you can travel mutiple times. When you use the AP the first time, they will stamp your documents, keep one copy and you will keep the other. Any trip after that, you just show all your stamped documents

That's a good question. I really don't know if it makes a difference or not since you will be using the AP when you return to the US. I don't recall it stating anywhere the specific uses. Maybe someone else here will know the answer.

When I requested my AP I said it was going to be for business and vacation (I think), but anyhoo, the AP document does not state anywhere what kind of trip you're allowed to make. I just used it for business in june, had absolutely no problems....

Good luck!
