My fiancee and daughter had to return to manila to give some paper work for her daughter that she had to get from cebu, she was told to return between the hours of 1pm and 2:30pm and go to windows 17-20, she returned but the security guard would not let her in, she was not told to make a appointment, just return and go to windows 17-20. my question is should i make a appointment for her, she is in manila now.

At her interview, on a Monday, Chinook received a blue slip. The following Thursday, she submitted the required document to Window 17 at the Embassy. I believe she was able to do so because she showed the guard her interview appointment letter from Monday and her blue slip, and she convinced the guard that the Consul Officer told her to submit the document as soon as she received it.

The next morning, a Friday, Chinook was awakened in her hotel room by a call on her cell phone from a caseworker at the Embassy. The caseworker wanted her to submit some other documents again because he had lost those documents. Fortunately, Chinook had copies of the documents that the caseworker lost. Chinook immediately went to the Embassy and talked her way past the guard and the others by explaining the situation and name-dropping the caseworker's name. She successfully submitted the needed documents.

So, I don't know what to tell you. I can only relate our experience. However, something sticks in the back of my mind about Friday being the day in which the Embassy allows you to submit documents for those who have already had their interview. At the same time, I can't explain why Chinook encountered so much resistance by Embassy personnel to entering the Embassy on that Friday. Maybe Chinook has a powerful ability to persuade.

I don't think you need to make an appointment. Have you tried calling the Embassy's direct line to the Immigrant Section of the Embassy and asking them for the proper procedure? The number from the U.S. is 011-63-2-301-2000. I think you then press 7 and go to extension 5184 or 5185. This will get you to the Immigration Section where Rhio had her interview and where her caseworker is located.

Mike...I hope someone comes along with a more definitive answer for you.

Let her show the blue paper to the guard, it's a proof that she needed to go back to the embassy to submit some papers. If still they won't let her go in, like what Tahoma said, call the landline and just be prepared to have the Manila case number cuz they will be asking for it so they can answer her inquiries better.

Tahoma i called the embassy, the lady i talked with, i explained to her that the security guard would not let her in, she asked for the case number and i gave it to her, she looked it up and said Rhio was approved, i said yes mam i know, but we did not receive passport with visa for daughter she looked and asked me if daiughter came with her to interview i said yes, she looked again and said she just needed to submit her BC, i told the lady that is what she is there to do but the security guard would not let her in, she came back and said there will be a follow up and asked what address did she give for the delievery. i told her the address and she told me that the it would be delievered and for me to call back there friday.

What did she mean by "there will be a follow up?"

What is going to be delivered? Rhio's visa?

Why does she want you to call back on Friday?

She did not say what the follow up was, and she was talking about her daughter visa, why i have to call back i do not know, she did not go into details about why she was not let in the embassy.

Hmmm...They are going to deliver her daughter's visa even though Rhio has not submitted her daughter's birth certificate...that seems strange. It makes me wonder why they wanted her birth certificate in the first place if they were going to give her a visa anyway. I guess you will find out more on Friday when you talk to them. Keep us posted.
