Tax info - totally confused!

Guys, Ive been reading Lotos EZ guide which is awesome, but Im confused as to what to do.

My wife is on ssi. has been for ten years now, and from what I undrestand as she is unable to work, hasnt filed taxes. So she fills out an i864 the same as her father?

So, her father is going to be a sponsor - my wife will still remain the primary sponsor and her father will be the co sponsor. is that correct?

He is retired and receives pensions, so obviously has no pay slips etc. What is suggested as futher evidence to send to the NVC?

Im told he has originals of his last 3 years of taxes. Im not too familiar with the jargon, or whats what as Ive never been in this process before. Does he just photocopy his taxes and send them in to the nvc.

ALSO - i send the following to my wife the petitioner to send in to the NVC, correct?

IV Packet

a. Bar-coded cover sheet

b. 2 Passport-sized photographs of the beneficiary

c. Completed and signed form DS-230 Part 1 by the beneficiary

d. Completed and 'unsigned' form DS-230 Part 2 by the beneficiary

e. Photocopy of the biographic data page of the beneficiary's passport

f. Original/Certified birth certificate of the beneficiary

g. Original/Certified marriage certificate of the beneficiary and the petitioner

h. Original police certificate(s) of the beneficiary

i. Original/Certified divorce decree of the beneficiary's prior marriage(s), if applicable

j. Original military certificate of the beneficiary, if applicable

k. 1 set Photocopy of all the above civil documents

For the I-864 bit...yes, your wife still has to fill out the I-864 and submit a letter of why she wasn't required to file taxes for the last 3 years.

Her father will be the co-sponsor and he could make photo copies of his 3 last years of tax info and send it to your wife so that she can submit everything together with the barcoded cover sheet (invoice of AOS bill paid) to the NVC. Or he could call the IRS and get tax transcripts for free (in minutes if he is in front of a fax machine or in a week or 2 if sent through the mail). Since he doesn't have pay stubs, copies of his pension and what ever else that proves his "income" would be beneficial (usually...depends on who reviews your case at the NVC).

For the IV packet- Looks good. Of course there are your country's specific requirements of documents that you should double check to make sure you have. I would also have the beneficiary's full name and case number on all pages (on a sticky note for the original documents) in the I-864 package and the IV package. On the back of the 2 photos I would include the full name of the beneficiary and the case number as well as the date of birth of the beneficiary.

I hope that made sense and was helpful. I'm sure someone will come along and correct this is something is wrong (sorry if there is something I am mistaken about).

The shortcuts seem a bit daunting, but we're going with it. As per furthering our expedite request, is it worth sending an email to the address you told me about, before or after. or just sending in the hard docs pertaining to the request along with the beneficiary police certificate etc?

I would say when you hear NVC Case#, you can try the same expedite.

Also, as a reminder, it can be added in the IV package too.
