Hello everyone. Just called the DOS and spoke to a visa specialist and asked about the status of my case . After checking on my file, the lady told me that my case is still under administrative processing review and no visa interview has been scheduled yet. I asked her what does it mean to have my case under AP review but she didn't give me a good answer. When I checked with NVC last week through the AVR, the message said that my case was already completed last October 15,2010. I quite confused now as to what is really happening. I'm expecting to get an interview by December, 2010. I've read alot here at VJ about AP review and their not that encouraging. What would I do. I really need to be with my sickly, old dad(94 y/o)who is expecting me to be in the US ASAP. Please help me what to do... :help:

To be honest, getting a "correct" answer from DOS is very hard just like any other government agency. However, if you are unsure of your case status, call DOS 2-3 times in a couple of days and ask them your case status. Once you get the answers, compare them and deduce your results from those answers.

The bottomline is, don't quit trying!

Hope this helps!

Just called up NVC and was able to talk to a "charming lady". She told me that my interview is definitely not this coming November since my case was only completed on October 15,2010 and they have already released the interview schedules for the coming month. So she suggested to me to call NVC mid November since by then they have already scheduled the interviews for December. Well that was quite encouraging and it lifted up my spirits. Hopefully my family and I will be given a schedule in December. I just need patience...
