Hi VJ members! Would you help me to understand the process of biometrics for AOS. I sent my AOS packet and I am expecting my NOA1 and then the biometrics letter. Would you explain me please how it should be done, where and how? Thank you.

After you get the NOA, you should receive your biometrics schedule. The letter should tell you where and when it should be done. (Normally in your nearest Local USCIS Office)

Basically, Biometrics is taking your fingerprints and a photo of you. It is for Police/FBI clearance check (I think) and it will also be used for your EAD and Green Card in the Future. After that, If all is okay, we are going to wait for 2-4 weeks for Interview letter, EAD & AP approval. IF they need further evidence they will ask for one by mail.

If you receive your appointment, you can also attempt to walk-in so it can be done earlier ;)

Hope this info helped. ;)
