Hello,

I am new to this and just beginning the process. My wife is British citizen, has 5 year old son. She lives in Dar es Salaam TZ. We are about to mail the first round of paperwork petition, bios, supporting docs etc and I am a bit confused. Do I file 2 petitions and send 2 fees for Wife and stepson? Also we are opting to go the consular route because my wife is a teacher and under contract so we have some time before she can leave Dar. One more thing, I will mail these papers then will be in Dar till March...will I need to have an alternate address in my cover letter? or have someone here in the US watching the mail?? Is there any way they can enter the US next summer during the process?

I look forward to responses sounds like there are many people with experience out there, thanks

Yes, 2 petitions - one for the wife and one for the step-son. Also 2 fees

I'd have someone monitor your mail in the US and altert you to any USCIS mail. However, most of it is electronic so you can keep up with your case online

They can visit as british citizens on the Visa Waiver Program, however entrance and duration of stay is not a guarentee. She should bring ties to either the US or TZ to show she MUST leave the US and retrun

Good luck
