On the visa related paperwork, we put down LAX for the POE. I'm trying to get moved to Washington (near Portland) before I bring her over next month. Is it fine if we use Portland (or wherever else) instead of what we put on the paperwork, or do we need to use the POE we put down on the forms?

You can use any POE, no problem. When you do choose a POE, check the reviews to see how busy the POEs are and what the harassment levels are (most of them are friendly). Plan it so she is at the POE for at least 3 hours before her connecting flight so she doesn't miss it. :)

Thanks for the information :)

Fortunately, there won't be a need for a connecting flight. Also, I hope to actually be with her for the whole trip anyways

PDX is great for visa processing as it only has a couple of international flights a day. I live 15 minutes from PDX and used it for my POE and had cleared all the paperwork and was at the baggage carousel before the bags were.

If you wanted to use PDX you would have to come via Tokyo or Amsterdam as they are the only non Canadian international destinations with non stop service to PDX.

I figured Portland would be good for it. I lived up there when I first flew over to meet her, and went through Tokyo on NWA. When I came back, it was super smooth through customs, but wasn't sure if that was just for citizens or good timing luck. Sounds like that will be a great choice though, thanks!
