My son opted to remain in Canada to finish the school year as he had already started when we had the consular interview and we wouldnt be crossing until December, well into the school year. I listed him as 'follow to join' at the consualte, the lady there told us just to send in his passport when he was ready to come over. He will be coming at the end of the school year so he is sending in the passport. The wedng has taken place and I filed for my AOS, now I am thinking I should have waited until he got here and done it all at once...but I would like to hear from anyone else who took this route.

Will he have to have an AOS interview of his own when he gets here, I know I will have to file an AOS thingie for him, ....at least I wont have to do an AP or EAD for him.

Also....I cant seem to find any information on bringing pets over the border. He has a cat, and I cant find anyting on what papers we need to prove she is healthy or if they even care etc. If anyone knows, please advise!

07/04/2006 : AP used again to pick up my son, activated his visa (he was a follow to join)

07/13/2006 : AP touched ??? (possibly because I used it july 4th?)

08/01/2006 : Interview date

08/12/2006 : AOS touched

08/14/2006 : Gerrys biometrics

10/10/2006 : AOS interview for Gerry

10/28/2006, 11/11/2006, 11/18/2006, my AOS touched ; 10/12/2006,12/04/2006 : Gerry's AOS touched

12/07/2006 : AOS APPROVED !!!!!!!

12/16/2006 : GREEN CARDS IN HAND!

09/24/2008 : Apply for Removal of Conditions

09/26/2008 : 1 Yr Conditional Resident Extention

11/01/2008 : Biometrics for both of us

01/??/2009 : 10 Year Green Cards!!!

They didnt care when I brought my three. But its best to have it's shots up to date and a good health certificate from your vet. Basically, if they suspect the animal is not healthy for whatever reason they can not allow it entry but I dont think they care much at all.

When i was working on moving down here, I called to ask about bringing cats in, and I was told they didn't need any shots or anything.. that may have been just michigan but i dont think it would change that much.. They came across the border with no problems at all! They just have to be basically healthy.. I didn't have a vet certificate but it looks like that might be a good idea (based on mdyoung's link) Good luck on everything!
