Hello Everyone,

I've been lurking these boards every since I proposed to my fiance (November 30, 2009 AND May 13, 2010).

The information i've gotten here has been most helpful and I want to thank eveyone who has contributed to the vast amount of knowledge contained here.

I've gone through the I-129F process to the point of my fiance has just had her interview in Nassau, Bahamas on August 17, 2010.

She had the medical exam and got to the interview. At the last we were told that she needed to obtain a police record from her country of birth, which is Trinidad.

So now we've requested that and are now waiting for that to come back. What's aggravating about this is that this delay could have been avoided if I had paid more attention to what documents were needed for her interview. On the Travel.State.gov site it listed what documents are needed;

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3741.html

I just simply overlooked it. Now our plans are further delayed.

As you can imagine, this experience has been trying for both of us. But we're forginh ahead.

My reason for posting is;

Now that we are (hopefully) getting close to her Visa being approved, I don't want to be caught unawares about anything else that we may need.

I've been reading the Guides and getting as much info as I can, and will continue to do so.

So can anyone else tell me what I will have to do before/after she arrives? Or give me a link that will answer these questions;

She lives in Nassau, Bahamas and I live in Memphis, Tennessee. What will be her POE?

What documentation will she need to have with her when she leaves Nassau and enters the USA?

How soon after marriage should we apply for AOS?

She has a car (2004 Honda Fit, steering wheel on the right, imported from Japan), can we import this car to the U.S.? How? If not, what other options do we have?

We both want to travel back to the Bahamas in Jan. 2011, how long does it take for Advanced Parole to be approves?

Would appreciate any other helpful advice ..... particularly from those with experience marrying Bahamian resident

Her POE is whatever airport she is flying through that will have immigration most big airports I dont think Memphis has one she might come through Atlanta it really just determines how you book the ticket or she may even come through Chicago. Also you can file for AOS as soon after you are married there is no time frame but the sooner the better so that she can get her EAD/GC/AP especially since you are trying to return to the bahamas in 2011 I am not sure if you will be able to return with her that fast but you could try....I dont have any information specific to the bahamas try posting in the bahama portal if you have not already done so they can help you specifically with the specific questions about the interview and required docs for the bahamas...GOOD LUCK
