hi

can i get a new job during the middle of the process of my adjustment of status? i know its a big issue to have a stable job and income that meets all the requirements but if i was able to get a new job fulfilling all these needs would it still cause an issue because they want a nice period of time with the same employer. we have filed affidavit of supports but in the past they didnt even care about our AOS at all. what happens if you leave the job or are let go, does the aos help because it seems like they dont care too much about the aos anymore at least from my own experience. just wondering with all these questions, hope someone can help me out

thank you

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

How is it supposed to help? you HAVE to have the I-864 there is no option you cant leave it out. You have to make above the povertyline to file without a co-sponcer.

hello

well my question is can i (sponsor) look or get another job while my adjustment of status for my wife is still in process? and if i were to get laid off from my job, does the affidavit of support really help because during my petition the uscis didnt care at all about my co sponsors

from what I heard from a friend of mine, the phils usually doesnt accept co-sponsors or ignores them. It almost happend to him too when he filed a K-1.

You can look for another job but the I-864 is important, its a legal binding contract. It is more important than the I-134 support sheet. You must meet or be above poverty levels or have a co-sponcer during AOS.

oh so usually they dont really accept co sponsors during the petition itself....but for adjustment of status it is good to have a co sponsor....i do meet the poverty guidelines right now but i also have a co sponsor that meets much more.....so even if i left my job or got laid off....my co sponsor would be a big help during AOS? Im just asking to be safe....but super thanks for the help :)

You can have a co-sponsor when you do not meet the poverty guidelines. And if your co-sponsor meets the guideline, then go for it. Yes, it will be a big help so your wife can get her GC.

AOS Process

2011-02-07------------Case transferred to CSC
